A 20+ meter deep construction pit

On a construction site near the city of Liège Belgium, water seeped into a construction site. With the construction site only a few meters away from the banks of the River Meuse, it was no wonder that water was a problem. Several pumps were needed to overcome the incoming flow of the 20+ meter deep construction pit. With the extra height of the road crossing and some height in the drain line, the total water column was about 27 meters.
