Pumping At Great Heights

What started as a normal project for our valued customer, specialized in Industrial cleaning, turned out in a not so everyday project after all. The job parameters were to deliver 100m³/hr. at 5Bar of flushing water to a height of around 80 meters from a water source 360 meters away. From a pump selection point of view nothing special as we have many options available in our extended pump rental fleet. We opted for a frequency controlled 55kW electrical driven high pressure pump equipped with auto start-stop function. But with plan A, B and C declared not possible due to different reasons we faced some challenges to get the water up to the requested height. We had no other option than to temporary mount a 6” steel riser pipe alongside an existing steel structure. And to make it more interesting, at around 60 meters up we had to “jump over” to another steel structure for overcome the last 20 meters. With a meticulous planning some common sense “engineering” and the certified piping equipment from our sister company All Liquids Piping we got the job done.
